1. The primary purpose of this photograph is to cheer Ty up.
2. This was taken at the Alameda flea market, a market held on an old landing strip (read: huge). I haven't the faintest idea what the big round thing is, I just know the whole scene—ferris wheel spokes, twisted fun-mirror reflections, dotted lined lights, scuffed and shabby boards—for a split second had all the ingredients of a carnival fairground.
If by "cheering me up" you mean "pissing me off" then you wildly succeed. Oh. My. God. That photo is what one can easily call a "career" photograph. Dorothea Lange's "Migrant Mother." Please.
I get it. You are cheering me up by making me have to work to compete with this type of BRILLIANCE.
